His Last Kiss

Raven hair splays across her pillow in soft waves.
Olive skin as smooth as the satin on which she lays.

Golden locket with their images, rests upon her throat.
His heart wrenching pain, hidden, as the gun neath his coat.

His last kiss as soft as her dusty pink lips.
He remembers her warmth and the curve of her hips.

Their vows taken in bliss; till death do us part.
To the living, is left a broken, bleeding heart.

He leans over her body with his gun aimed true.
Crimson sprays up, dotting sky's of blue.

Echo's of gunfire, the tombstones couldn't mask it.
As his body falls limp, across his true love's casket.

In Dreams

Draw near in the dark of floating, misty dreams, appear to me, my love, as you used to be, from cold bitter death, leave your Paradise stream, open the gate and drift silently to me, and kiss me, kiss me, my love, within this dream. Inspiration from the poem, Echo, it seems. Christina Rossetti wrote of seclusion, of dreams and lost love with sensual passion. Rispetto January 8, 2013 For the contest, Poetry About Poetry

Last Kiss

Our mouths and our souls mix as we become one, Love second to none ... The moon, that just moments before bathed our night - Now swallowed by light ... Huge clouds, like fresh mushrooms, bloom pink in the skies, Soft-sparkling your eyes ... Night, turned to day, with bright colors and aura ... Such dazzling horror ... Our mouths and our souls mix as we become one, We burn like the sun ... Our lives and world ... done. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Half-Eleven" Poetry Contest, Nina Parmenter, Judge & Sponsor. ~ 2nd Place ~ in the "The Last ..." Poetry Contest, Silent One, Judge & Sponsor.

A Kiss Goodnight, Soon To Be A Kiss Goodbye

I'll kiss you as you sleep,
But secretly I shall also weep,
For it seems you are now away from me,
Wandering about with my parallel self,
In the sweet world of dreams.

I'll kiss you as you die,
But secretly, away from others, I shall also cry,
For then it would seem you are going away from me,
Wandering about with the Lord for all eternity,
In the sweet world of higher being.

Belladonna

Nightshade, O how you taunt,
Seductive is your flower, dark purple,
Give yourself over to Her night.

Wine of Circe, Sweet the sleep you give,
A kiss of intoxication, Ease the
Passage of the soul.

Divale, Prima Ballerina of the Ballet,
Dance of La Belle Mort, Beautiful Woman,
Hers is the tango of death.

Lethal flower, make the voice rise high,
Fatal Soprano, yours is the power behind his throne,
Saccharine song of bells in your wake.

Belladonna, lustful and lusted for,
Your ambrosia is not of life,
But the kiss of death.

FOR THAT MOMENT

I kiss
your
cheeks
and
on
my lips
the salt
of
dry tears
as I watch
you sleep
peacefully
for
that
moment
your face
free of
pain
or
worry

The Sad Past

Little did I know
Our mistletoe kiss that night
By the Christmas tree
Would be the last kiss we shared
And then you left forever

*My first attempt at an assonant poem.
Those familiar with assonance please comment and let me know how I did.*

Kiss the Rain

I Kiss the rain for it hides the tears
As they flow down my face
All the bottled up sadness and fears
They won't look out of place

For no one can tell that I'm in pain
How heavy my heart may be
When I stand up tall and kiss the rain
The drops will hide so no one can see

They say the rain will cleanse you
Just Like a shower or a bath
So I'll use the rain to renew
To Decide upon a new path

So kiss the rain when you need to
No one will know but you.

Twilight Kiss

Steal a twilight kiss upon the garden path of death....

Give to the Oleander, a twilight kiss, reach for the darkness, its false promise of bliss. Drink the nectar, that would steal the light. Listen, your heartbeat, as it fades with your sight. Then, alone, in darkness, draw your last breath.

4 Love

Love is a four letter word
she whispered into his ear,

So is four, as is word
he whispered back into her fear,

Such is "you and I"
cried his heart - she could hear,

Their cheeks hugged, eyes kissed
each shedding a single tear.

A Kiss So Sweet

My life was gently moving on
Grief abating, resolve growing strong
Until his kiss, within a dream
Ripped away the seams
Holding back the pain deep in my core,
Tears fell once more.....

Angel Kisses

A soft whisper across your cheeks
Of memories and love that gave you peace
My son has passed my tears I shed
Have made me weak as I retreat

A Mother's beating heart of sadness and love
To the flutter of wings from above
Giving goodness and Grace at an endless pace
Your angel has come so pure and white

God gives his gift of love
An angel kiss for Mother from Son

Give a passionate kiss to lover
Before the darkness

Kisses your soul out

Last Kiss

Open your eyes to the ever turning skies
I want to here with me through the night
My heart yearns into your soul
Burning as if newly lit coal
I bravely submerg the embers
That the time I have can be spent with you
And I remember each kiss every moment
I was caught in your love that for just this day I remember
So what happened was a chance for your love
A time that I kept in a locket tied with a kiss
I wanted you to feel, to love, to slumber
And to awake in my arms with that times kept bliss
I lay silient in an umber

First and Last Kiss

Atop the road by the sea
Thou confessed thy affection for me
By a kiss as thy language of love
Ebbed from the copious desire thou have

A kiss from thee, my first love,
Something at last I have
My first love; my first kiss
I didn’t expect I’ll miss

‘Twas a kiss of farewell
For my love will depart and travel
Didn’t know when we’ll meet again
But I’m hoping it’ll happen

Though it’s heartbreaking,
I have to accept the pain I’m feeling.
The first and last kiss we had
Is the first and last kiss we’ll have?

Your Kiss From Heaven

My heart longs to hug
and to snug
In ur warm arms.
Not to be left in darkness.
We used to snog
On the large log,
Feeling ur tenderness
And every sweetness
Of yours lips.
Your swaying hips
Astounded my senses.
There are no pedestals
Reserved in the heavens
For girl wit such outlooks.
You exist in my fantasy
Visiting in my fantasy,
For a gem I have lost.
Heaven's taken my best.
I need no other kiss
But your kiss
From heaven.

The Final Confessions II

These were my confessions
(A message to God)
The light begins to fade
(It’s time to go)
Back into the shadows
(That hard black fog)
Where darkness has its way
(God rest your soul)

Nothing left to tell you
(It’s all been said)
No more songs to write
(This silent Fall)
Nothing left to offer
(The well’s been bled)
From a shadow’s waning life
(Who lost it all)

Take my words and hold them
(Don’t be afraid)
Place them near your heart
(And heal your pain)
Shadow words will kiss you
(And heal your pain)
When your world turns dark
(Don’t’ be afraid)

And I kiss you
Kiss you
I kiss you in the dark……..

deadly kiss

I hungered for his kiss
My lips leaned forward, into his
Then passion exploded everywhere
He gripped my hips, I gripped his hair
Body to body, we became entwined
Flames raged from his mouth to mine
Desire for more consumed our thoughts
Till grips of steel pulled me off -

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” My husband raged
I staggered back, red flooding my face
“WE’RE OVER” he said. 10 seconds of bliss,
The death of our relationship

Wind

the salty wind blowing from far, far away
read me a poem today
whose lines I've heard before,
bur where and when,
I couldn't tell:

"the shortest road is the one
that you know,
the longest road is the one
that you love"

soaked in deep thoughts,
I sat there for hours and hours
my eyes shut, lips dry
waiting for further clues
until, as a sudden,
the 'longest way' part rang a bell

I got off the chair,
opened my arms wide towards the ocean
hugged and kissed the wind,
the almightiest messenger of them all,
for making me feel again
so well.

Why my heart ponder

Why my heart ponder?
I, your offender..
What I gave?
Dark love in a cave...

I promised you a thousand lands
Didn't give enough sands...
Changing me and my love,
Hiding behind the black scarf..

Hiding me I couldn't speak,
Feared losing in a streak.
This was my only reason
But turned my passing season..

Now I rattle,

As a foolish cattle
Leaving your land and cheese,
Yet to find me some peace...

little pale lies

sometimes, i get a wave of sadness over me.

i love you, and i want to be with you,

but

you deserve someone

a little less neurotic

and

a little more normal.

someone who is honest when she whispers, “I’m so happy”

under the covers.

you make me happy.

but you shouldn’t have to change me like that.

a kiss of Death at 4 am

Woke up from a
nightmare
at 4 am

clenched on to
my cold sheets
and stared at the
dead stars
in the ceiling

looked to my right
and gave my
sleeping sister
a peck on the
cheek

she woke up
scared for her life

I don't blame her.

being a poet is
-inevitably-
a curse as much
as it is
a blessing;
our emotions
always burst out
at
the
wrong
times.

Your Kiss

Standing at the front door
I'm seconds away from you
I can feel my heart pounding
I can sense the excitement
My pulse quickens, anticipation
I can practically taste your kiss
I open the door, I call your name
Instantly, I inhale your scent
My body reacts, it's involuntary
Again, I breath in your scent
This time slowly, with purpose
I follow the scent, like a hunter
It leads me to you, it always does
Your kiss, excites me, drives me
Your kiss, is what I live for
