Sundays

I lived to be an old woman, and how I could tell 
of the changes I've seen.
i stood upon a mountain of my most precious years, 
as they formed as jewels at my feet.
I looked down into the valleys to the places I had began,
which made clear how far I had come.
I could see all the rivers my tears had long but formed
as deep channels with no plan.
I was the one however to lead those that needed
strength of heart.
I often wonder upon the distance between the age of an old woman and rest,
I believe it will be the largest of any change that I have seen
