Black Sunday {Personification in Couplet form}

I was as high as the eyes could see
A giant dark cloud of pure misery

I seemed to roll as one with the wind
A giant black wall that had no end

I stripped the land and left it bare
Of the lives I destroyed, I didn’t care

Those who stayed I covered in dust
As their children died I broke their trust

From my hell many families did flee
Left to wander homeless in misery

I changed the word these words are true
Black Sunday brought darkness on you

I didn't see any direct link but just goggle
pictures of the dust bowl and you will see
what i have written for Brian's Contest.
The Dust Bowl - Alexandre Hogue - 1937

The Sphinx

Her feline grace reclined,
triumph ruled in Her eyes -
Many sought the blue flamed tryst
in shaded groves they court with lies.

These men fell power drunk
tripping on love’s wine;
its tang turned acrid
as they lapped the poisoned vine.

The once green forest cinder,
no water for the lake was dry,
The valley’s burnt to ashen gray
and all She kissed have died.

On a silent night
In a kingdom by the sea

Bright moon and star
On dark mindnight sky

Shine silently above
Mermaid’s loud cry

Shallow tears lay
Into depths of hearts

Who seek paradise
In a kingdom by the sea

Where daylight doesn’t reach
Their eyes won’t see

You won’t find peace
There’s no heaven for thee

No sunrise would you witness
Nor sweet Annabel Lee

In a kingdom by the sea
Whoever you may be

No soul breaks free
From sweet Annabel Lee

Whatever drowns remains
In a kingdom by the sea

The Broken Rest

What of the girl sitting next to him,
	blood and blood,
	the same empty stare,
The coagulant dust, like mud,
	against these leather orange seats.
"My baby, my baby,
	tafali, tafali alhulu..."
Now what memory will last
	of my mommy's sonorous voice?
Will she return like waves in the night?
Shall I wait forever?

Blood fluxing in my veins stained the DARK canvass as pigments
LINES stroke - exemplifying this pestilential excruciation within
Color of SHADOWS and of my vexation and abhorrence occupied this art
Ending this existence to give birth to this lifetime masterpiece
For my very last breath, I can exaltedly declare,I've consummated one virtuous creation.

Weepers with hoods —
tear-stained, faceless.
Dirge monks with shields.

Knight of the golden fleece
on a slab in requiem.
The silent mouth of Cicero.

Fell in love with this funereal piece
— Tomb of Philippe Pot
with life-sized pleurants.

His hands steepled in prayer,
a lion in repose at his feet —
Grand Seneschal of Burgundy
