death, heaven, loss, relationship,
Sitting quietly beneath the old blue gum tree
Flowers surround me lined in neat rows on the lawn
White and blue, tall and short placed as if by gods’ decree
My eyes mist, oh god what she had undergone
Her face clouded in pain, body still as a frightened fawn
The room white, Spartan white sheets drape the bed
Her raven black hair no more, so much left unsaid
Eyes of fierce emerald green now dull and sedate
God let fall tears the day her mortal coil she did shed
Soon again in each others arms, standing at heaven’s gate

betrayal, grief, loss, passion, relationship, sad love, sorrow,
This is my first Petrarchan sonnet...
Grey days of loss and loneliness are here
Sad nights as long as shadows in the deep
No joy, no hope, no gentleness, no sleep
No ray of light predicted to appear
Just disappointment, emptiness and fear
And sacred dreams discarded in a heap
By some abyss of faith too wide to leap
In ruins lies the love we held so dear
Wise folk will say there will be love again
That suns come up, and suns go down, and yet
All I perceive is darkness, drear and grim
All I can feel is searing hurt and pain
My heart, my fingers, too burnt to forget
All blistered, from the flame I hold for him

Lord., I've Been Hurting!
This one thing I am
most certain…
Lately I’ve been really hurtin’.
I trying to do right, but it
turns out “wrong.”
Where, in life,
do I really belong?
So many people
pass me by.
Sometimes, someone
may say; “hi!”
I don’t know if this message is
getting across?
I feel so confused and
completely lost.
A message of “help” has my
prayer and plea…
For God to reach out to me!
He reached down and
made me whole!
HIS love and compassion
filled my soul!
Spending time with Jesus
is time well spent!
It was for you and me that
Jesus was sent!

death, farewell, love, relationship,
There was an old couple whose love was strong,
their life together was happy and long.
But one day the wife sadly passed away
and the old man was left alone to stay.
One life carrying a torch for the two,
until a lifetime on this earth was through.
Joined once again in a heaven to share,
he longed for the day to see her there.
A single flame burning deep in the night,
held in a little room hidden from sight.
Nearly touching and yet so far apart,
kept barely alive in one lonely heart.
One faithful morning the old man was gone,
now reunited and never alone.

evil, grief, life, loss, relationship, symbolism, voice,
She Gazes Back At Her Path Of Destruction
Stir-fried, blackened hand that stole many hearts
well-done, the fleshy flesh that tastes so good.
Like a fleeing animal that jumps and darts
love and live forever if only she could.
In fright, scared of stiff, boring boredom
a queen fluffing up for the next throne.
Her smile could win any kingdom
Her cuts gash so deep--down into bone.
She gazes back at her path of destruction
another heart in her black crushing hand.
Misery, depression, pain- her sweet elation
clawed feet in the pit of hell, there she stands.
Let the dead now hear, her anguishing cries
as bolted justice now descends from clear skies.

dark, fear, grief, hate, relationship, sad, woman, women,
My soul pounds with rage.
This heart has been scorched,
by your burning words.
My soul gasps for light
slowly suffocated,
By your hands of pain.
I bare the mark of shame.
Your touch has maimed my body.
My mind drowned out my screams.
Blow by blow,
Shamed so low.
Never did you know how,
Your hands of pain marked me.

angst, depression, grief, introspection, loss, pain, relationship, sorrow,
Forgotten thoughts resurface like the dim light of the stars
seeping from the wounds that sit on shelves in broken jars
never to be mended in the tattered threads I've weaved
knotted in the fabric of the falsehoods I believed
to bind me in the cobalt tide that no one vessel keeps
what seems are dreams for some of you are nightmares while I sleep.
Proudly they parade in gaudy colors crimson laced
radiating fiercly from the fears I haven't faced
crashing as the seas of sorrow wash the taste of pain
out of my mouth as I turn south where nothing left remains
but scattered, dusty memories and used up yesterdays
and scars that last from days gone past in hues of blacks and greys.

cry, grief, love, relationship, sad, soulmate, together,
I lay my head
on your shoulder
and exhale
my troubles
away
As your lips
kiss my tears
I close my eyes
and feel
all woes
dissipate
Nothing
in the world
matters when
sheltered
in your arms
in the universe
of you and me

grief, heartbreak, love hurts, relationship,
I can not get past the fact
You were putting on an act
All the years we were in love
Now push is coming to shove
As I find out how you feel
Wasn't as sincere or real
How could I have been so blind
I was true, in love and kind
To you every single day
Now your throwing it away
The only reason that you say
Is you can not hurt me this way
As I'm asking through my tears
Why pretend year after year
You softly touch me on the sleeve
As you turn around to leave
Whispering a sad goodbye
Both our hearts questioning why
This lie you lived for quite a while
Wasn't the romantic style
That your heart was searching for
As you slowly close the door

Beautiful Lies
One beautiful lie , an unvoiced sonnet
Words veiled with a crime that steals my hearts last beat
Slow turn of your mood shows me disquiet
With kisses warm and vulgar with deceit.
One pulse stills, our love was not the one love,
Just remains of a lukewarm cup of tea.
You steep and brood, one pineing the lost dove.
My broken wing lame, I fall into the sea.
Beautiful lies, my heart begs for your fires
To hear the words forged my way by anvil
Beautiful lies, hope grows dim and expires
Waiting for judgment by divine gavel
Tremble my lips , tears fall dry from my eyes
Protect me from madness, beautiful lies.

death, emotions, heartbroken, loneliness, lost love, relationship,
When I first saw you with your eyes of blue,
I stumbled, I stuttered, I did not know what to do.
When you held my hand my heart would melt,
you always knew how I felt.
Holding you tight those many years,
sometimes I can't hold back the tears.
How happy we were in this life,
now my days are full of strife.
For we were soul mates my dear,
and one day again I will hold you near.

Give me drink, rest, and solitude—
these are all the things I long for;
give me as well your finest food,
and I'll ask of you, lass, no more!
My lovely lass, what's the matter—
why are you all down and alone?
Don't be vexed because you're sadder
than most, dear, for God loves His own.
Sweet girl, I'll tell you a secret:
if I were a young lad again,
I'd chase you for your sweet asset.
But as I am two-score and ten
years old (with wife in deed), never
can I be your white knight with steed;
but your sadness won't last forever,
if you pray for the one you need.

They praise me like a saint,
But I am a sinner;
They don't know the man they see.
I am an addict.
Broken eyes to ***********,
Only Jesus can set me free.
Only by His death on the cross
And the grace of His Father's love
Am I able to be set free.
With God as The Light,
The One and Only Light,
The Only Hope in sight,
Will I be set free.
I am free.

She watched as the earth fell asleep
Waited for the yellow moon
soft kisses of unfaithful wind..
Images..Images on her head
Nostalgic memory of a forgotten love
Flashes of things she tried to forget..
Her eyes caught the reflection of the moon
locked inside the rain on her cheek..
She was standing alone..
Her grieving heart sought
solace from the moon
She petitioned the stars
Where is he this very night?
Cruel..oh so cruel..
Beneath the silence of the sky
she bowed her head and cried..

My love I can not find you anywhere,
I feel like I lost my soul somewhere,
because you are my soulmate,
and us being apart can not be fate.
You did not leave because you wanted to,
It just was just something you had to do.
I was not right, All I wanted to do was fight,
and knowing you was the love of my life,
yet I would not make you my wife.
I know that's what you really wanted
and now I am feeling haunted,
by the things I should have done,
and you being the only one
I ever loved and will love forever, if it was'nt for me we will still be together.
But you are gone
and I can not go on,
so I must say good-bye, I'm leaving myself to die.

The sun has learned
to nevermore interfere
with the moon
and its stars
To give it a whole world
because the sun
doesn't need to stand in the way,
when it has free reign
of the entire universe.

Best of friends, for countless years,
we had the best of times.
Now as my eyes are filled with tears,
your soul to Heaven climbs.
The path we take, not always clear,
I feel so lost without you here.
Your last words, prophetic now,
“I’ll be home soon”- you knew somehow.
You left me here, I’m so alone,
but I dreamed Heaven had a phone.
We talked all night, you fell asleep,
I held the line to hear you breathe…

When you're hurt inside,
And there's no where to hide,
And there's no one on your side,
And it's killing your pride,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,
When your heart is chocking,
The heavy words never spoken,
The things that hurt you inside,
When love has died,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,
When your heart is gone,
From being alone,
And it beats a solemn tone,
When you're cold inside,
It's only a short ride,
Never take hate outside

If I picked my Valentine
she'd be a perfect 10.
She'd have blonde hair with highlites
and answer where and when.
She'd be a little shorter,
yet tall enough to kiss.
Her reach a little longer
to torture us in bliss.
Her shape would be the bomb.
As sexy as they come.
With hair up for the moment
I'd meet her at the prom.
She'd talk a little faster
with words I'd say are smart.
Yet keep me to attention
in hugs up to my heart.
A smile just like a lion.
Her face a source of pride.
One to show my mother.
And then to make my bride.
My Valentine was perfect
as I lost her way back then.
How was I to know that she
would find her perfect 10.
